Meet Good Shepherd’s Staff
The Rev. Kathy Ierien
Pastor
Pastor Kathy Ierien has served as a pastor at Good Shepherd since 2007. Prior to coming to Delaware she served a congregation in Hibbing, MN and as a youth minister in Gettysburg, PA. She holds a Master of Divinity from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg and a Bachelor of Music Education from Indiana University. Before attending seminary, she was a band director and music teacher in northern Virginia. Kathy has two teenage daughters.
Dr. Seong-Sil Kim
Minister of Music
A dedicated church musician, Dr. Seong-Sil Kim was born and raised in South Korea. Having begun to play for Sunday school services at the age of eight, she has served churches as a pianist, organist, and music director. Kim completed her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance and pedagogy at the University of Iowa under the direction of Dr. Uriel Tsachor (performance) and Dr. Alan Huckleberry (pedagogy). Kim earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Ewha Womans University (Seoul, Korea), where she studied with Yon-Boh Cheung, Wonmi Kim, and Sujung Seo. Kim lives in Exton, PA, with her six-year-old daughter Ellie and her husband, Sangjin Yoon. Please contact Seong-Sil at sskim.music@gmail.com.
Lynn Ziemer
Office Administrator
Lynn has been a member at Good Shepherd since 2011, and the Office Administrator for the past seven years. She is responsible for producing weekly worship guides as well as the monthly newsletter, maintaining the church calendar, and other communication and administrative tasks. Feel free to reach out to Lynn with any questions you may have, and if she doesn’t know the answer, she will point you to the right person to get you the information you need.
Margaret Love
Director, Memorial Handbell Ringers
Margaret Love came to Good Shepherd as Handbell Director in September, 2004. Previously, she had served as Music Director at Hope Lutheran Church, New Castle, DE, and at First Unitarian Church, Wilmington, DE. She received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Florida State University and her Master of Music Education degree from Kansas State University. Margaret is presently teaching Celtic harp and beginning Adult Piano classes at the Music School of Delaware as well as teaching courses at the Osher Life-Long Learning Institute.
Jim Richer
Sexton
Jim began his work at Good Shepherd as sexton in October, 2021.
