Meet Good Shepherd’s Staff
The Rev. Dr. Kibreab Gudeta
Interim Pastor
Rev. Dr. Kibreab Gudeta graduated from Mekane Yesus Theological Seminary in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with Bachelor of Theology; Norwegian School of Theology with Master of Philosophy in Theology; and Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg with Master of Divinity. He also received Doctor of Ministry from Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University in Richmond VA. Currently serving as Chaplain full time for Wilmington VA Hospital in Wilmington DE. Kibreab received his Clinical Pastoral Education training at Penn-State Hershey Medical Center. Kibreab also worked as chaplain for Hospice of Washington County, Hagerstown MD. Before assuming this position, he was Manager of Spiritual care and Education for WellSpan Chambersburg and Waynesboro Hospitals. He is an ordained Minister of word and sacrament with Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and Board-Certified Chaplain with Association of Professional Chaplains. Kibreab has also served parishes in Hagerstown and Smithsburg, MD. Kibreab is married to his wife Chaltu Bekele. They live in Newark, DE with their two daughters Simera Gudeta and Rajan Gudeta.
Lynn Ziemer
Office Administrator
Lynn has been a member at Good Shepherd since 2011, and the Office Administrator since 2016. She is responsible for producing weekly worship guides as well as the monthly newsletter, maintaining the church calendar, and other communication and administrative tasks. Feel free to reach out to Lynn with any questions you may have, and if she doesn’t know the answer, she will point you to the right person to get you the information you need.
Karen DeFrank
Office Assistant
Karen has been a member here at Good Shepherd since 2022. She and her husband Len moved to Delaware to be closer to their grandson. Good Shepherd has been a wonderful addition to their new lives here. Karen started volunteering in the office and now is employed here! Margaret Love
Director, Memorial Handbell Ringers
Margaret Love came to Good Shepherd as Handbell Director in September, 2004. Previously, she had served as Music Director at Hope Lutheran Church, New Castle, DE, and at First Unitarian Church, Wilmington, DE. She received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Florida State University and her Master of Music Education degree from Kansas State University. Margaret is presently teaching Celtic harp and beginning Adult Piano classes at the Music School of Delaware as well as teaching courses at the Osher Life-Long Learning Institute.
Bob Bateman
Sexton
Bob began his work at Good Shepherd as sexton in December, 2024.
